Pete comes from a musical family. Originally from Waterford, Connecticut, his parents were both music teachers, and his twin brother is a trumpet player. Pete studied piano as a child, and took up the trombone at age 9. He earned his B.M. in Music Education at the Crane School of Music at S.U.N.Y. Potsdam, while playing with various bands and orchestras in Northern New York. In 2005 Pete began his studies at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, with Conrad Herwig. He graduated from the M.M. program in Jazz Studies/Performance in May, 2007. Since then, Pete has been freelancing in the New York / New Jersey area with various groups covering many different styles. During the day, he works as an Exercise Specialist / Personal Trainer at a corporate fitness center in downtown Manhattan. Pete now resides in Brooklyn with his fiancee, Sara, and his two cats, Mingus and Carmen. Pete is a solid, versatile trombone player who feels at home playing in any style.
