Born on February 10th, 1987 in DeLand, Florida, Mikia Desaussure was the newest addition to the world. Who would've thought a child as young as 8 years old would find solace in music and be inspired so early on? Well she did. From the moment she turned on a radio and heard influences by the name of Celine Dion and Mariah Carey, Mikia was amazed with their presence and decided to make her own for people to see. Being the middle child, Mikia had always strived to be in the spotlight. And music was the perfect niche for her to make it known to the world who she wanted to become. At the age of 11, Mikia started writing and singing her own songs. And became inspired to become a songwriter for her own needs to stand out from the crowd. She has written over 50 songs and continues to pen melody after melody to share her life experiences. It was found in music the strength for her to touch people's hearts and to take their mind away from their issues for a moment. Ironically through striving to make others feel good inside, it uplifted her own spirit when life handed her issue after issue. This passion of hers is shown through her music and is felt in her voice. Her goal for her music career isn't to be well known or well liked. It is to have anyone hear her story and her heart through a song. She is in it for the pure love of music. And who can say they doubt her for that?
