AK-47

AK-47 was formed in the summer of 1999 as a side project for guitarist Tommy Von and drummer Todd Lutz of War Pigs.(Portland based Black Sabbath tribute band) With Johnny Donlley on vocals, AK-47 was breaking ground in some of the smaller venues in the Northwest. Everything looked and sounded promising, Until May of 2001 with the tragic death of the amazing vocalist Donlley, all hope was lost.. years later a lost tape came up and inspired War Pigs to resurrect AK-47 with North Carolina’s golden boy, Rich Ray. With Ray taking the helm on lead vocals, AK-47 recorded their debut album ‘Lock & Load’. A hard rock/metal album of new material as well as with the blessings of the Donlley family. Some AK archives, the music had been quoted as Black Sabbath meets Alice in Chains. 2009 brings promise and hope for AK-47, a four-gunner onslaught of unlimited potential. contact; [email protected] /a
