Band Members: We've met each other for some times now. Quite some times. But then on December 2006 we finally got together and formed this band. Nayamul are: Nikita Dompas on guitar and voice; Lie Indra Perkasa on contra bass and voice; Philippe Ciminato on percussions, drums and voice; Ali Akbar Sugiri on piano, rhodes, hammond, melodica and voice; Mian Meuthia on vocal, tambourine and shakers.
Influences: Tout le monde! Mon petit l'histoire: When I was just la petit fille, me father used to play some rock n' roll, folk, blues, country even jazz records. He listened to Steely Dan, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Dylan, Santana, Hendrix, Duran-Duran and Swings. "Take The A Train" always be his first record to start the day on Sunday morning. Me mom loves pop, disco and music she could jive on. ('Course @her time pop was all 'bout: Bee Gees, The Bread, Petula Clark, Diana Ross, The Commodores, Lionel Richie, Carpenters and other similar artists). They also loved the classical such as Strauss, Mozart and Beethoven. From there I started to listen any kind music. From The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Billie Holiday, Susan Vega, Feist, Ani DiFranco, Edie Brickell, Tori Amos, Bjork, Joss Stone, Norah Jones, Jill Scott, Corrine Bailey Rae, Rickie Lee Jones, Dylan, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Kings of Convenience, Silje Neergard, Erykah Badu, Shawn Colvin, Sting, Radiohead, Thom Yorke, Portishead, Morcheeba, Miles Davis, John Scofield, Massive Attacks, Chemical Brothers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Mayer, Rufus Wainwright, Imogen Heap, MEW, Kasabian, the Gorillaz, Blur, Stacey Kent, Rene Olstead, The Vines, Beck, Stone Roses, Lisa Ono, Damien Rice, Lisa Hannigan, Emiliana Torrini, Moloko, Frou Frou, Jamiroquai, Ben Harper, Zero 7, Hooverphonic & Lamb. And those bloody wicked UK bands,... smashing, ya!Things I've heard brought me to what I am now, I guess... In the end, it's just me and my music. ciao..
Sounds Like: Some of my friends said that my voice have a unique character. More low-mid yet I can catch those high notes. One of my friend told me that my color could be in my low voice. I think me sound's have bit of this and that. Folk sound, bit of rock maybe and jazz w/ soul. I consider my self more acoustic. Even though I'd like to try new things like more MIDI sound and ambience stuff. Of course I certainly have my own true color. Hope y'all can hear it soon after I made a few adjustments with the production. Last one wasn't that good.. So, you know. Then, you can decide what you think 'bout me. oh, and please.. do criticize me.
