Nihilo was established in 2003. To find their own style of metal the band started with covering various metal classics. To write own songs and realize the personal ideas of music was always the main goal. Nihilo manages to unite the different tastes of music of each band member and create a versatile and varied metal mix. Death Metal riffs meet vocal melodies which add depth and tensions to the songs. At the same time Nihilo grants great importance to their lyrics and the correlation between words and music. The meaning and content of each piece of lyrics gets more importance through the musical support.
In 2008 the first EP „Nyktophobia“ was recorded at Farpoint Studios in Kirchberg, Switzerland by reowned producer Alain Stucki. „Nyktophobia“ pictures the first creative development and lines out the tracks for the further way Nihilo will go. The EP was released in October 2008 and earned a lot of positive reactions all over. Mike Majewski was responsible for graphic design. With his expierence in drawing covers for several Death Metal Bands he turned out to be the best partner for this project. Besides the artwork Mike also designed the new logo for Nihilo.
The year 2008 was a succesful one in every aspect. Due tue numerous shows Nihilo gained a lot of popularity. The band got reviewed (both live and CD) by Quam Libet Records, stalker.cd and metalfactory.ch. The show with Sinister and Roots Of Death on the 20. of December represents the end of 2008 and one of the highlights in the previous carrer of Nihilo. To have played on the same stage as the dutch death metal legends is an important step for a young metal band.
And the machine keeps on rolling. First gigs for 2009 are already confirmed. Furthermore Nihilo is pushing on songwriting to present new material soon. „Nyktophobia“ was just the beginning, and you won’t get rid of Nihilo too fast!
