About Me

Andrew Marshall's Bio
Often compared to the likes of James Taylor and Radiohead, Australian indie singer-songwriter Andrew Marshall combines stirring vocals with an earthy, acoustic instrumental blend.
Andrew infuses elements of rock, roots and folk into his intimate live shows, drawing in audiences with his creative instrumentation and lyrical storytelling.
From the vibrancy of inner-city living to the beauty of the natural world, Andrew's music has been widely influenced by his observations and experiences as a Melbourne boy and keen traveller. In particular his use of the didgeridoo has been inspired by his excursions from the south coast into the interior of Australia and across the Northern Territory.
In 2007 and 2008 Andrew performed shows and festivals around the UK, supporting Dan Crisp on his South-West Launch Tour before becoming an established live act in the studios of commercial radio station Exeter FM . Andrew also appeared live on BBC Radio Devon and achieved number 1 chart positions on independent station Radio Free South West with his songs Summer Days (July 2008) and Beautiful (Feb 2009).
Since returning to Australia in 2009 Andrew has performed shows with Faye Blais (Canada) and Rosie Burgess Trio . Now based in Hobart he spends most of his time performing around Tasmania and Melbourne.
Debut Album REFUGE
Released in March 2008, Andrew's debut solo album REFUGE was recorded at Coombeshead Studios and has been receiving regular radio airplay in Australia and the UK.
The album is widely available online, at Andrew's shows, and from Pure Pop Records at 221 Barkly St, St Kilda.
