About Me

I've been doing music in some form or another since the early 90's but only in the last 4 years have I made a conscious effort to actually learn to play, so here are some of the results if that effort. I play acoustic and electric guitar, soprano and baritone ukulele, bass, mandolin and homemade cigar box guitar with varying degrees of proficiency/horror-to-the-listener. I record at home using the cheapest of 4-tracks and do digital editing with Audacity. I am also a music citric, so go find what music you need to hear at http://www.outsideleft.com

My Interests

Band Members: That would be me. I wonder how many people on myspace have used that same line?
Influences: I like a lot of things: Early American folk, dub, psyche rock, indie folky rock, rocky indie folk, a little country, a little metal, a lot of weird. I am an all-consuming listenerFor my most recent stuff, John Fahey has been my biggest influence. Not really because of his technique, but because of his light hearted yet deeply moving approach to guitar music. My other favorites that feed the machine are The Fall, Guided By Voices, the new folk stuff like Iron and Wine and Devendra Banhart, and new weird stuff like Black Dice and Fantomas. And the mid-career Rolling Stones - from Aftermath through Exile on Main St - are the best band ever.
Sounds Like: um, a guy screwing around in the acoustic room at the guitar store, mostly
