About Me

Well, I guess telling a little bit about me is in in order. I got out of the military about a year ago and a half ago. I spent almost ten years in the Army as a tanker, lastly as a tank commander. I've been on three different continents and been to about a dozen countries, but now I'm out and back home again in Indiana. I don't really plan on staying here for good, but who knows what the future holds. I just tell myself it's alright to live here now because Purdue is here, and that is where I plan on attending college for the next few years. I'm majoring in Civil Engineering; building bridges seems like a worthwhile activity...

My Interests

In my off time, I like to: work out, play paintball, hang out with friends, ride motor cycles, go to movies, eat out, see concerts, hit a comeby club and play billards or poker occationally. I'm not big on the club scene, but I do get out to Pierre's for the odd concert or two.

Music:

Hmm, mostly alternative rock: Nickelback, Evanescence, Nirvana, Shinedown, etc. I also listen to some hiphop and country. So basically anything.

Movies:

Anything, as long as something blows up or the guy gets the girl in the end. That's why I hated Titanic; nothing blew up and the guy died in the end. Very depressing movie. My favorite recent movies would probably be Kingdom of Heavan, Constantine, and Hitchhikers Guild to the Galaxy. All time favorites would have to be Starship Troopers, Montey Python and the Holy Grail (memorized), Hunt for Red October.

Television:

I'm not much of a TV watcher. I watch the news in the morning before heading off to class, but that is about it.

Books:

Sci-Fi mainly. David Webber, David Drake, Steven White, S.M. Stirling...

Heroes:

Colin Powell: I just love his coment about European acusations that we are empire building in the Middle East: "We have gone forth from our shores repeatedly over the last hundred years and we’ve done this as recently as the last year in Afghanistan and put wonderful young men and women at risk, many of whom have lost their lives, and we have asked for nothing except enough ground to bury them in, and otherwise we have returned home to seek our own, you know, to seek our own lives in peace, to live our own lives in peace. But there comes a time when soft power or talking with evil will not work where, unfortunately, hard power is the only thing that works."Powell in '08!
