Formed in 2001 by Renato Ramos and Claúdio Aguiar, it wasn’t until late 2002 that the name Karnak Seti was the choice for the current members of the band - Nelson Nascimento, Renato Ramos, Claúdio Aguiar, Nino Frazão and Bruno “Gadelhas†- A way of capturing the essence of the universe and ancient Egypt, something that was often used as a inspiration for the current lyrics.
In mid 2003, and with António Jesus filling the spot left by Bruno “Gadelhas†due to personal problems, the bands started composing new material and changing the sound of what was up to date, thrash metal to a more melodic-death metal. On the year of 2004 another line-up change made Georgino Capelo join the band, taking the place of Nino Frazão. In August of 2004, “Karnak Seti†demo was recorded and released – although not a professional recording and yet without any kind of distribution – and received positive feedback from national magazines and webzines. Later in 2004 Karnak Seti were able to re-record the “Karnak Seti†demo on a real studio as a prize for winning a local band contest.
At the summer of 2005, “Collateral Dreams†demo is recorded and released later that year, again without any professional recording and distribution; the second demo surpassed the band expectative and received various national and international positives reviews. More live shows we scheduled with band like Blue sound Traffic, Requiem Laus.
With the year of 2006 without any releases, Karnak Seti is preparing themselves to enter a studio some time soon and record new tracks.
