Defunctus est un groupe de Thrash Metal basé à la Roche sur yon (85000) qui s'est formé en 2005 dans le courant du mois de février, composé à cette époque de 3 membres : Corentin en tant que bassiste, Damien en tant que batteur et Valentin en tant que guitariste. Le groupe débute par des reprises pour commencer à composer assez rapidement.
Après une démo intitulée « Desecration » (enregistrée par étienne palalap) et quelques concerts (dont un au Fuzz'Yon sera enregistré), le groupe rencontre Anthony qui s'installera au poste de chanteur en février 2006.
Le groupe réalisera avec celui-ci une dizaine de concerts et une démo intitulée «Old School » (enregistrée chez boris de l'association « Trouble Son ») .
Sept mois plus tard (en septembre 2006), Alexandre entrera dans le groupe en tant que second guitariste.
Anthony quitte le groupe en juin 2007 laissant quelques mois plus tard la place à Thomas. C'est avec cette formation que Defunctus sort sa deuxième démo intitulée "Necronomicon".
Defunctus splite le 21 Septembre 2008.

Defunctus is a Thrash Metal band located in "La roche sur yon" (France) which was created in Februrary 2005. By the time, it only consisted of 3 members : Corentin on bass guitar, Damien on drums and Valentin on guitar. The band began with covers and started writing songs quite early.
After a demo called "Desecration" and a number of gigs (including one at "Fuzz'Yon" which will be recorded), the band met Anthony who became the singer in february 2006.
The band did a dozen concerts with him and one demo called "Old School".Seven months later (in september 2006), Alexandre, who already knew the band's members, joined the band as a second guitarist.
In June 2007, Anthony leave the band and will be replaced by Thomas. It's with this new line-up that Defunctus will release it's second demo "Necronomicon".
Defunctus split the Sunday, September 21 2008.
