DJOKOCOMMUNICATION is a dancing and percussions group in West Africa (Senegal). The group is based in a traditional and cultural village called Malicounda Bambara(Mbour), about 75km from Dakar.
The group started in 2002 with Cheikhou Diarra, who was a great dancer in a group called Epoppe Mandingue(Dakar). He is also the teacher and the choregrapher of the group members in Djokocommunication.
The group travels in Senegal, making performances and all kind of workshops in hotels, schools,clubs, theaters and even cultural tribe performances for all ages. The first time the group travelled out of Senegal was in September 2006 in Denmark for one months tour, first stop was the island Bornholm.
Bouba Diarra is the manager of Djokocommunication, he is a singer, dancer and a choreographer. And he was also a member of the group Danielsorano, National Theatre of Senegal. His base is in Denmark where he is trying to promote the group worldwide.
