MYSPACELAYOUTSPY CODE END --Mauricio Caruso is a guitar player, electric guitar player and producer with influences that goes from Mike Stern and Pat Matheny to Jimmy Hendrix and Jimmit Page, without mentioning Michael Headges, Tuck Andress, from Hermeto Pacoal to Egberto Gismonti, Stone Temple Pilots and Foo Fighters. With his eclectic style, he mixtures various tendencies, that goes from jazz to fusion, pop, rock and a lot of Brazilian music.He started his studies with erudite music by playing flute, studying baroque music, but just like any other teenager that likes to hear rock music, he started to play the guitar by studying jazz, improvising and putting in practice his erudite skills on popular music. In 1992, when he was seventeen years old, Mauricio entered in the University of Sao Paulo (ECA – USP) in order to study Composition, and now he has a Bachelor Degree in Composition. In USP, he not only took classes, but also a closer accompaniment in his works by professionals like Edelton Goelden ,Gil Jardim, Willy Correa Oliveira, which used to be his mentor in composition. During these years in the university, he had the opportunity to work in a variety of groups of chambers, in many formations, as instrumentalist, composer and also making arrangements.From there, he took many courses and participated in specific workshops for guitar and electric guitar. As a guitarist, he took part in many records, either in jingles for producers like Piano, Next, and Play it Again, as well as many works from various artists.In the years 1992 and 1993 he was part of the Brazil’s main rock gospel bands, Katsbarnea, traveling to all over the country.In the year 2001 he was involved in a NGO called Alento and traveled to Angola with this organization for a period of a month to teach guitar in this country in need.From the year 2001 to the year 2006 he was part of the jazz band called Tres de Paus with Douglas las Casas (drums), Ximba Uchyama (bass), by playing in many Brazilian cities with workshows , teaching projects and also in crowded theatres.Lately, Mauricio has been engaged in a new instrumental project with a party of five focused in Brazilian music. He is also the guitarist of Bruno Masi’s band; he plays with Sebastian which is a dancer and singer famous for being sponsored by the Brazilian department store C&A in its advertisements; he is part of IN Vitro band (where he plays along with Lima’s Family and Igor Willcox) , was once part of Pulga Joe rock band, and also used to play guitar for the Brazilian female singer Nila Branco.Mauricio Caruso is an endorser for the Yamaha’s electric guitars and guitars as well as Elixir Strings. ____________________________________________________________ ______ (versão em português) ************************************************************ *****Mauricio Caruso é guitarrista, violonista, flautista, produtor musical e educador, suas influencias vão desde Pat Metheny e Hermeto Pascoal, a The Police e Foo Fighters além de música erudita.Com todo esse ecletismo, mistura várias tendências, que vão do jazz ao fusion, pop, rock e muita música brasileira. Aos dezessete anos, Maurício foi admitido pela ECA-USP no curso de Composição, do qual hoje é Bacharel. Durante os anos de universidade, trabalhou com diversos grupos de câmara, como instrumentista, compositor e arranjador.Em 2001 esteve envolvido com um projeto da ONG Alento, indo para Angola num projeto de aulas e assistência neste país.Como instrumentista, atuou em diversas gravações de jingles para as produtoras Piano, Next e Play it Again.Entre outros trabalhos participou da banda Três de Paus, tocando em diversas cidades do Brasil com projetos didáticos de workshows com teatros lotados. Atualmente atua no circuito instrumental como compositor.Como guitarrista, recentemente participou da Banda de pop/rock Pulga Joe, acompanhou a cantora Nila Branco, o cantor Bruno Masi e o trabalho solo do dançarino e cantor Sebastian (da C&A) e foi diretor musical do CD e do Show “Velocidade da Luz” de cantor Rodrigo Moratto.Atualmente no circuito comercial integra a Banda IN Vitro (ao lado de Lucas Lima e Moisés Lima), acompanha: o cantor Alexandre Bacchi e as cantoras Arícia Mess e Glaucia Nasser. Na noite paulistana faz participações com as bandas Black Rio e Funkaria.Para divulgar seu novo trabalho instrumental Mauricio Caruso está com o Show “Reflexos da Noite” mais voltado para a música brasileira onde conta com um repertório de composições próprias do seu novo CD e de algumas releituras brasileiras como João Bosco, Ivan Lins e Pixnguinha.Maurício Caruso é patrocinado pelas guitarras e violões Yamaha e Elixir Strings com cordas.
