Rebecca Jordan grew up in an all black neighborhood in Cleveland listening to everything from James Brown to JoÃ£o Gilberto, Motown to Mozart, Paul McCartney to the Pixies, which explains the eclectic nature of her sound and also how she learned to fight.
"Everyone in our family was musical. But music was something you did at church or at home on the weekends." So after high school, Rebecca went off to study biomedical engineering. "I showed up wearing mocassins and tie-dye with a crystal around my neck, blasting the Cocteau Twins. To say I didn't fit in would be an understatement. People always thought I was in the wrong building, they would point me towards the art department. One day I realized they were right."
Rebecca financed, produced and released "The Trouble With Fiction" through her own Tea Party Records. The 6 song EP includes 5 original songs and a signature interpretation of the Stevie Nicks classic, "Dreams".
