About Me

Hooplehead & the Droop-Eye Orchestra is the solo project of Columbus, OH musician, Jef Shaffer (aka., Hooplehead). The Hooplehead debut CD, Coarse the Vein, is currently in the process of undergoing mastering and artwork design, with a hopeful release of the disc by early Summer of 2007. In the meanwhile, check out Jef's current project, the local Columbus, OH entertainment video magazine, Homegrown Hero .Jef's previous bands include Matrix, Vertigo Burn, The Mindflip Transfusion, and Saviour Alien. He has shared the stage with national acts including Sevendust, Galactic Cowboys, Nuclear Assault, Sacred Reich, Mushroomhead, and more.Jef also performs stand-up comedy and has appeared on the Wags & Elliott morning show (QFM 96.3, Columbus OH), Grego Show (WBZX 99.7, Columbus, OH), and the Dr. Demento Show (national broadcast) with comedic/musical guest appearances. In addition, he has performed the national anthem for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Syracuse Crunch, and the Columbus Clippers.
