ABOUT MASTER JIAN Z ENG JIAO
As in most successful Chinese athlete's careers,
Coach Jian started training in wushu at the young
age of 8.by 1985,Jian was on an amateur wushu
team.He competed in the 1988 Liaoning
provincial tournament and became the champion
of two major events,changquan and sabre.
Scouted by the Liaoning provincial wushu team,
Jian started his professional wushu career at age
12.He quickly rose through the ranks and became
champion of the Chinese National Youth wushu
competition in changquan,sabre,three-sectional,
and fighting set.Jian briefly terminated his professional athletic
training in 1995-1996 and went to the film
business.First he was Yuan Biao's stunt double,
Second,he was a stunt double and an assistant
choregrapher in the American production
"Warriors of Virtue".He went on to perform
drunken sword on MTV, and made commercials for
Beijing TV.
ian's close friend from the Liaoning province and
new corner of the Beijig wushu Team,Ms.Liu
Qinghua,introduced him to her head coach,coach
wu Bin.After their meeting, Jian began his second
professional athletic career,in Beijing,under Coach
Wu.Jian worked several years without pay and with
no position on the team's competition roster.He
persevered through his training and eventually
earned his spot in 1999 as one of the six men on the
Beijing Team competition squad. To present,
there has been no stopping this furious dragon
since 1999. Jian has won six different individual
championship titles in the Chinese National wushu
competition and one World Champion in 1999.Jian is now a performer at the Cirque Du Soleil
show Ka at MGM GRAND.
