About Me

CLICK VIDEO AND SEE ME PLAY A Fabulous Lute tocatta by Johannes Kapsberger. The Second vIdeo is my good friend Diane Cushing and I performing Flow My Tears by John Dowland. Some of my first recollections of music are of hearing and watching my SWEDISH grandfather play his guitar. He sang in English and Swedish. The sounds were very fascinating to me. My mother started me on piano when I was in second grade. Like many guitarists and musicians before me the Beatles arrival in the states really struck a nerve. I immediately wanted a guitar. My grandfather picked out my first guitar for Christmas when I was 14. I started teaching myself the summer my family moved to Alexandria Va right before I started high school. When I was 15 I saw the great classical guitarist Andres Segovia at Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. I grabbed the life size billboard of him and brought it home. After this experience I sought out a classical guitar teacher and have been performing, studying, teaching and writing music ever since. I am in the middle of my 22nd year teaching at Keene State College in NH. AND YES THE YOUTUBE VIDEOS ARE ME Playing the LUTECHECK OUT MY OTHER PAGE: www.myspace.com/tedmanncomposer
