****UPDATE: Palo Alto premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 29th. All of the screenings at the festival were sold out and there was a great buzz about the film and the soundtrack going around. Thanks to everyone to came out to see the movie. More to come.
The soundtrack for PALO ALTO features an amazing slate of established and up-and-coming artists who hail predominantly from the west coast. This set was compiled by indie producer, Eric Robinson, a native of Palo Alto, who personally works with many of the artists, "I realized that this film was coming together simultaneously with several album projects with which I was involved with," says Robinson, "and there was an amazing opportunity not only to help tell this story, but also to showcase some incredible new music."
The opening title sequence features the debut single from Todd Carey's new album "Watching Waiting", available this spring. "Ain't Got Love," is a radio-friendly jam that kicks the movie off perfectly. The ending montage of the film is given new meaning by an unreleased song called "Heartbreak World," from Matt Nathanson's highly anticipated forthcoming album. Other highlights from the soundtrack include L.A. favorites The Ruse, Malbec, and Dave Lichens.
All of the artists displayed in the top friends area have songs on the soundtrack. PLease visit the main Palo Alto page for more details.
The trailer features the following songs in order:
Malbec - Closer
Dave Lichens - Blue
Matt Nathanson - Heartbreak World
