With music inspired by David Lynch and Marlene Diedrich, there is singing about kisses waiting to be found, high heel shoes walking the highway of love and sailors waiting for the waves to take them home..THE HUNGRY HEARTS consists of six permanent members. One of the members is Portuguese and lives in New York. The Hungry Hearts develop and produce performances concerts, video films, music, texts and photographs. We are an interdisciplinary project and work across different genres and disciplines.We seek to create small universes where lies, dreams, sanity and insanity are parts of the personal and global stories being told. The Hungry Hearts communicate through self-composed music, lyrics, synchronic monologue/ dialogues, choreography and costumes. The six members of The Hungry Hearts continuously develop alter egos who live their own lives in the films and performances we make. The Bride of Christ, Rosita Lonelyheart, Anatolha Twins, The Pantyhose Lady and Betty Ballbreaker are temporary the most prominent ones. Sometimes they give kinds of masses where they contribute with their obsession about the female body.THE HUNGRY HEARTS build universes where everything is intertwined but where we still find a kind of order. None of the members in The Hungry Hearts have drawn a distinct line between themselves and others. They vanish in the sunset and rise again when the sun sets. THE HUNGRY HEARTS find it impossible to distinguish between lies, dreams, fantasies, stories and reality: “If it is in your head it is real, it’s the things outside your head you must question†says one of the alter egos in the bans. THE HUNGRY HEARTS tell their stories through their own melodies, cliché lyrics, exaggerations, lies and choreographed movements. They are singing about kisses waiting to be found and about high-heeled shoes walking on the streets where car-doors open. THE HUNGRY HEARTS is an audience-friendly art project. We perform at the art scene, the music scene, theatre, film and queer scene and we appeal to people of all ages. It is through communicating with the audience these hungry hearts become real.Policy of The Hungry Hearts If anyone would like to screen or use The Hungry Hearts’ material they need to contact Tonje. We treat requests from rich and poor organizations differently and of course have different prices. Sometimes we also do things for free, but then we have to take a higher prize from the organizations with good economy. Contact Tonje - she will reply.We do not appreciate or allow other groups or individuals to use any products made by The Hungry hearts in official places without asking.The Hungry Hearts was established in 2006 under the name Sofia and the Secret band. In August the same year they performed a double bill at Bar Wotever in London. In February 2007 they performed at the opening of Vestlandsutstillingen, a regional Norwegian art exhibition. In 2007 they performed 10 times at the 120. Autumn Exhibition, Artists House, Oslo and did one performance at Trondheim Kunstmuseum, Kansai International Queer Filmfestival and Paris International Lesbian and Feminist Filmfestival. In 2008 they have performed at Landmark ArtClub, Bergen Kunsthall, Kulturtorget 2008 Lillestrøm (kultur.akershus), Storåsfestivalen, Oslo Queer Festival and MamaDada at Oslo Bymuseum.The Hungry hearts also makes videos and have participated in Several International Film and Video Festivals such as Kansk International Video Festival,Russia, Girona GL International Film Festival, Spain, Paris International Feminist and Lesbian FilmFestival and Kansai Queer Film Festival, Osaka, Japan. The Hungry Hearts compose their own music, lyrics, choreography and films.
