Blob's Anatomy

About Me

The "Blob's Anatomy" project takes form among the ideas of two young boys of South-Italy (Giuseppe Di Puorto+Roberto Della Torca) during the autumn of 2006. The deejays, impassioned of music to 360° from rock to experimental to techno, had been playing alone already for a couple of years but, seen the recurrent musical affinities, chose to unite themselves in the pseudonym that, musically, more united them. The name, in fact, remembers the BLOB, the famous alien diffused in the cinema-world during the '70s, completely gelatinous and that ate everything it met on its journey. The sound of this duo is particularly close to the Blob's philosophy and to its form. They often love talking about their music as living reality, and, about their live-sets, as "creatures in full movement". The result is soft, winding, elastic, disruptive, "gelatinous", but also dry and thrilling... They are influenced, in more and less evident way, by the dawns of the electronic music of the Germans Klaus Shulze, Ash Ra Tempel, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, but also by musicians as Philip Glass and Steve Roach, by the Autechre and Biosphere’s ambient-techno, by the Detroit-Techno of the first years together with the Chicago-Acid, by the "pure" minimalism of the nineties, mainly Finnish (Vainio), by the mythical British Murder Boys’ “Dry-Techno”, by the Female’s spine-chilling "Broken Up-Techno", by the Pounding Grooves' "Pure-Techno", by the Prodigy’s Drum&Bass, by the rock-music and the Radiohead’s experimental-rock, by the new Indie tide or Indie-Rock, by the Brinkmann and Monolake's musical experimentations; but, obviously, by the sound of the generation of "holy monsters" as Ellen Allien, Chain Reaction, Chris Liebing, Adam Beyer, Ricardo Villalobos but, expecially, RICHIE HAWTIN; relatively placed side by side to the talent of the manifold new artists as Mikael Stavostrand, Tony Rohr, Audion, James Holden, Paul Kalkbrenner, the Minus crew... just to name a few. "Making a complete list of all the sounds and all the artists who influence us is nearly impossible, considerating new sounds are out daily! We try to center something original and different, but also impacting; nevertheless we often abandon before falling, for desperation, in an "occasional minimal". The anxiety to produce doesn't have to be an obstacle to the quality of job; however some of our tunes, still locked, can be listened to in a live-set. We'd be enthusiastic our sound became part of the bright experimental electronic tide, leaving a slight sign, also if marginal and only for few people".
