THE URINAL PROJECT is an interactive manifesto about inverting the speculation process on Duchamp's legacy. Why is the contemporary art so dependent on distortion of Duchamp's ideas? Why does everybody quote him to legitimate their conceptual lazy criativity? The more important issue on Duchamp..s contribution to the XX century art was the question of individual ethics. Where is it now? Do you still want huge amounts of conceptualized trash in the museums? Aren..t you tired yet of beeing postmodern? Please return the object to where it belongs. No more renal calculi in the art world. The best thing of digital era is that you don..t have necessarily to produce new fisical useless objects to be creative. No more accumulation. All the sent photos will be added and the mosaic will be periodically updated. Please send me a photo of an art museum's urinal. Make the definition of Duchamp's Fountain grow. The other part of the project is THE URINAL PROJECT website where all the cells in the mosaic are linked to the respective museum. This project began with a proposal of work about the concept of "museum" in my art class at FBAUP . My intention is to question the place of the common object in the museum.
