In The Minds of Scott and Julie are an up and coming acoustic duo that has been gaining attention in Hampton Roads. In June 2000, Virginia Beach resident Scott Orcutt met Julie Manna, who is originally from New Jersey, at a Virginia Beach club. As fate would have it, Julie was singing a Led Zeppelin tune when Scott approached her to join musical forces. The two haven't looked back since. Open mike nights have fueled the duo's confidence. The more Scott and Julie would go out and play, the easier the originals would come. Scott says he and Julie were sailing along the Lynnhaven Inlet when they came up with a name for the duo. "We were trying to think of the best way to describe our music, and figured that our music starts with whatever is in our minds at the time," said Orcutt. "Hence that name." The duo has 1 CD available. The 14 track disc is titled "No Frills," and can be purchased at their shows.
