Nothing-New [Booking Next Tour!]

About Me

Starting in 2006, 3 young scally wags picked up instruments and started to play, all of a sudden a tanker carrying nuclear chemicals burst through the house drenching the poor boys in the chemical, which genetically altered their musical talent, making them a super powerpop/punkcore group... Which are now known as Nothing-New.
SURFACE UNSIGNED, PART II, It's amazing how much pop-punks Nothing New have grown in the last six months. From wide-eyed, embryonic scamps to suave pop punk kings inside Surface Unsigned’s four rounds, there's an effortless spring board confidence evident now, and hands to the heavens punk thrills aplenty. It'd take a fool to bet against the gawky trio.
SURFACE UNSIGNED, A band of a million props Nothing-New take the stage wide eyed, flanked with yet more banners (there's four decking the Gate's impossibly wide stage tonight), a heap more merch (there's now twenty choices in hot pants, pins and tees stage left) and a clutch of new pop punk nuggets that barely stop to draw breath as the Cardiff trio clatter across the stage. At first glance you'd be forgiven for dismissing the day-glow pop punks as some kind of novelty - all lopsided grins, back-turned caps and cut off shorts – yet it's impossible not to fall for their breakneck pop nuggets, which have the wondrous glee of a child running amok in a sweet shop
FIGHT NIGHT, Muni, Pontypridd Their brand of American-style punk strongly influenced by Green Day and early Blink 182. Through the sideways baseball hats and baggy jeans are some solid tunes and a band that play frantically with passion and fun - this all climaxing in a stage invasion which saw mostly the entire crowd dancing away on stage. Plugged In Magazine Issue 5.
CARDIFF BARFLY, Flying a lone flag tonight for Fat Wreck style pop-punk, Nothing New sure invite lame jokes about what they bring to the musical table, but your dutiful hack is proud to say he's above saying, ahem, nothing new (sorry). Still, what they may lack in innovation, NN make up with sheer vibrancy. Scaling every inch of Barfly's stage inside the first two minutes, there's a charming vitality to the trio as they clatter through their scuffed punk-pop nuggets like they daren't leave a moment of quiet else the world might swallow them up. Bonus points too for having grizzly bear-dominated merch too. ROAR! - Robbie Edward
