PHIREWORXBY: JON ALVIRA, XPOZ MAGAZINESince 2001, Travis, Rashad, and Cleatus have been perfecting their art and producing beats for the pure love of it. Having some family in the industry and a rolodex full of locals has been giving the group enough on their hands. Nonetheless since the trio used to collaborate back in the day, its been nothing but delicately constucted music. The treacherous three met each other back in the 7th grade, and ever since have been feeding off each other's swag. "We were friends first, then the music came", Says Rashad. Phireworx began after the group obtained Fruity Loops, then everything fell into place after they mastered the program. Phireworx credits such producers as Timbaland, The Neptunes, and Dr. Dre for their production influence and try to mesh the various styles with their music. The group had their first big break with Cleatus' cousin Rugby, now known as Juice, getting sign to The Black Wall Street with the aid of their producing on the track "The Truth." Later on they started their own group called Choke Hold Recordings where they produced for local acts. Eventually as the gears began to turn, the group named themselves Phireworx. After the Fruity Loops program they had updated to Fruity Loops 6, The group invested in the program and in a Phanton X6 Keyboard. Now the group is gettin major attention, at the One Stop Shop Producer's Conference here in Phoenix, Young Hot Rod of G-unit was literally out of his seat as they were playing tracks for him. Cleatus is also hooking his kin folk by dropping a few tracks for Juice's next mixtape coming out later this year. Without a doubt, Phireworx is amped up about the road ahead, saying "We only 20 years old and we settin people's asses on phire!" Expect to hear Phireworx on upcoming tracks with 211 of CTE (Young Jeezy's label), Burnz, Bobby Creekwater (Shady Records), and many other artists that are too discreet to name.
