Who am I, you ask? Oh, you didn't ask?!
Either way, who am I, in 500 words or less (key word)......
I have spent most of my life pursuing a dream. Music. I have pursued with everything I am the dream of calling myself a professional musician. I have sacrificed in order to reach that goal. And I have watched that hunger be rewarded in a successful band of my own, a record deal, a publishing deal, studio work, road work, and numerous cuts on many different mainstream artists. Living the dream right? Should be end of story right? Wrong. After all of this "stuff" I had accomplished, I looked up and noticed that I still didn't have peace or true joy in my life and in my heart. I would have told you had you asked that I knew God. Although in the daily living of my life there was no evidence of Him. Not surprisingly, the lyrics in my songs that I wrote during that time are laced with faith-filled messages. See I had faith that there is a God and I even believed that my Saviour was Jesus Christ. What I had never done was pursue him with everything that is in me. I had never turned away from who I wanted to be and what I wanted to do in order to run down what He wanted me to be and what He wanted me to do. Now that I have turned over my life and everything in it over to God I do feel that peace and joy that I could never find. Don't get me wrong, things aren't easier, but I do know that I am walking in His truth and following the path for my life that He desires for me.
