About Me

Those Who Can...Do. And They Teach Too!
“It’s 4:45 p.m and assistant principal Kelly Johnson-Turnbull is putting away the chalk and pencils. She takes a last look at her to do list before heading out to her car.
She’s in a hurry. She hits the gas and starts driving, not home but to a secret meeting place where teacher, Megan Bailey and librarian, Tracy Belsher are waiting eagerly. The evening is getting on, but the threesome has work to do.
They turn up the lights and pull up the chairs. They write; they strum; they hum. They are doing their homework, recording the final tracks of their new CD.
Teachers by day, musicians by night, they are Rustic Charm.”
Article by Angela Brown (Bonnyville Nouvelle.)
In the five years Rustic Charm has been performing in the Cold Lake, Lakeland area, the band has grown. Who but another teacher, Angela Seguin, and the husband of a teacher, Colin Sitler could put up with conversations on educational philosophies and the latest young adult fiction during rehearsals? (You know we don't really talk about that stuff, right?)
United by music and friendship, grounded by their desire to help others succeed, Rustic Charm is a band with a five soul strong heart.
Ready to take their beat on the road the band is working on a second CD. A tour of any open-eared and willing venue in Alberta and BC is planned for next summer - when school’s out, of course.
