Jimmy Gonzalez Y Grupo MAZZ was formed after bandmates of the original Grupo MAZZ, Joe Lopez and Jimmy Gonzalez, split in 1998. Though the original Grupo MAZZ was successful Jimmy was the one who was said to be the musical genius behind it all. He wrote music, produced, arranged, and was also the lead guitarist and 2nd vocals in the original Grupo MAZZ. Jimmy Gonzalez Y Grupo MAZZ was signed with FREDDIE RECORDS in 2000 releasing his first ever solo cd, Quien Iba A Pensar. Jimmy Gonzalez Y Grupo MAZZ have tons of hits all over the U.S. and since he's been a solo artist he has won 4 Latin Grammys and 1 American Grammy; he also has 12 Platinum Records and 14 Gold Records. He continues to produce major hits working with FREDDIE RECORDS and has also recently reunited with his former bandmate, Joe Lopez on October 13, 2006 in Dallas, TX to record a live cd and dvd entitled "The Last Dance". Jimmy is truly a living legend in the Tejano Music World.
