DJ Dooby aka Funkdooby is what you can call a classical „blockparty dj“. Being a sure shot party rocker with 15 years of experience he is not only know for his turntable skillz but for his extraordinary mash-up-sound and his feel for the crowd. Born in Dresden, he started as a pioneer of the early 90's east german hip-hop scene, playing numerous famous clubs and festivals and alongside some great names throughout the years. Besides playing in clubs, he promoted own parties, got involved in several music projects and toured with the Funk band EASY TUNES. In 1998 he became also finalist at the National Stanton DJ Championships.
Dooby's sets represent a caleidoscopes of urban club music which has the funk and the break as its base. He combines Funk, Soul, Breaks, Oldschool Hip-Hop, Reggae, Dancehall, Latin, Electro and even Dubstep and Drum&Bass and is famous for his wicked mash-ups, which he very often mixes live. Besides his skill for music he is a real globe trotter who has always been exploring new territories. In Dubai, were he played several times at the MIX, one of the biggest clubs of the middle east, he was even named as one of the best European DJ exports to date. He also gained huge respect in India, were he lived for three years playing big clubs like ELEVATE and organizing own events like the famous HEADZ HIGH nights in New Delhi. He has settled now in Frankfurt, Germany and teamed up with Stupid Deep from bureau45 as the misterious mash-up-dj-team HIGH FIDELITY.

Dresden – Leipzig – Delhi – Dubai - Frankfurt... das sind die wichtigsten Stationen in der mittlerweile 15 jährigen (!) Karriere eines Mixmasters, der im Ausland bereits als einer der besten europäischen DJ’s gefeiert wurde. Dies liegt wohl nicht nur an den virtuosen Mixkünsten und den ausgeprägten Entertainerfähigkeiten des gebbürtigen Dresdners, sondern vor allem daran, dass Dooby Sets ein Kaleidoskop urbaner Clubkultur darstellen - von Soul und Funk, über Reggae, Breakbeat, Electro bis zu kickenden Hip Hop Beats. DJ Dooby ist ein B-Boy der alten Schule der den Break huldigt, gekonnt zwischen den Stilen wandert und dabei die Kunst des klassischen Blockparty-DJ's zelebriert.
Das größte Wagnis startet Dooby 2003, als er seine Homebase nach Neu-Delhi, Indien verlagerte. Schnell verdiente er sich dort den Ruf als deutscher Partyrocker. Mit seiner Partyreihe "HEADZ HIGH“, setzte er neue Maßstäbe in Indiens Hauptstadt. Er trat in Indiens größter Diskothek ELEVATE auf und für reiste mehrmals nach Dubai. Dort verwandelte Dooby das MIX, einen der Hot Spots Dubais im Fünf-Sterne Hotel Hyatt, zum tobenden Partyinferno. Mittlerweile hat Dooby seine Zelte in Frankfurt am Main aufgeschlagen, wo er mit Stupid Deep das Mashup-DJ-Team HIGH FIDELITY bildet.
