About Me

Since its inception in the seventies hip-hop has always been about fun, self expression and originality. These characteristics enabled the culture to span from New York City to a worldwide phenomenon. Over the years many artist and producers embraced these themes pushing the genre to new heights of creativity and originality. Those who have witnessed the culture evolve have a clear understanding of Hip hop’s past, its present and where to take it for the future.Enter B-Dub a Durham, NC based Emcee/Producer. Dub has been contributing to the culture for close to a decade with beats, rhymes and production. B-Dub lyrically is a potent mix of raw lyricism, thought provoking punch lines balanced with a touch of humor and wicked wordplay. He has worked with a variety of artist and producers over the years building a name around the Raleigh/Durham area as a well respected producer, battle emcee and audio engineer. He was worked with producers such as Easy Mo Bee and various rappers from around the country. Born Brandon White in the Nation's capitol he spent his childhood between D.C and Maryland. "I was drawn into Hip-hop at about nine years old by the Native Tongue Movement, Public Enemy and NWA," says the twenty five year old artist. Inspired as a teenager by his large volume of cd's and tapes from artist like Common, Big Pun and Big L and producers like Pete Rock, DJ Premier and Timbaland B-Dub began rhyming and making beats. "I wasn't serious when I started it was just something I did to kill boredom," he says. After high school in '99 he came to the Bull City as a student at NC Central University home to other music luminaries such as Little Brother and Sunshine Anderson. Dub began making a name on campus as a vicious battle emcee and prominent beat maker. Not limited to just the artist side of things Dub is also an experienced recording engineer who has recorded and mixed many professionally released songs,” When I first started rhyming I wasn't sure who I could trust to record me and give me hot beat so I realized I had to do it." Self taught on the boards B-Dub has a hand in every aspect of song production he also plays keyboards and bass. The future shines bright for B-Dub in 2007. Under the Foe' O Foe Entertainment label he plans to release his long awaited debut album "Words from the Dub Volume 1." He also has countless upcoming production work with other artist around the Triangle area. As he gains footing on the shaky ground in the industry Dub is also taking another role behind the music. He is a co-executive producer for the DJ S&S hosted "Carolina Connection," mix tape which is gaining national distribution and is in the process of starting 2ube Entertainment an independent film company with a television show in the works. The sky is the limit for this young and prominent entrepreneur. Myspace Layouts Get your layout at dam7.com

That was the beginnings of the legacy they called.....B-DUB. Anywayz there are tons of mofo's that influenced me b4 and after that moment. RUN-DMC, DE LA SOUL, ATCQ, GANGSTARR, NWA, GETO BOYS, BDK, BIGGIE, BIG L, BIG PUN, ONYX, ORGANIZED KONFUSION, SLUM VILLAGE, EMINIEM, HIEROGLYPHICS, PHARCYDE, MOP, ALKAHOLIKS, WU-TANG, ATMOSPHERE, MF DOOM, MURS, REDMAN, MOBB DEEP, NAS, JAY-Z ETC (ANYBODY THAT WAS/IS HOT INSPIRED ME).
