I live in Dorset, and am married to Liz, a dance teacher, (so yes, I can dance a bit), and we have 8 boys and 2 girls between us. Their ages range from 24 down to 6. However, they do not all live with us, if they did I would need a castle to house us all. I work in delivery/logistics, which takes me all over Southern England.
When I get time off I love to walk around the many wonderful sites this Island has, Stone Circles, Henges, Barrows and Hill forts. Pictures of some can be found on my site. I also like to look around Castle ruins, (not modern stately home type ones though). I’ve been lucky enough to visit many sites all over these Isles. Cumbria is one of my favourites, but Cornwall will always feels like home. Probably as my family comes from there, via Ireland, another wonderful place. The only area I have not covered is Scotland, and all the Islands that surround her. But I hope to rectify that soon.
As well as loving the countryside, I also like to be near the sea, and am fortunate to live very near to a wonderful quiet piece of coastline. I often take a trip there at dusk, it's so peaceful and calming.
I am very keen on our history, up to and including the Dark Ages, after that there might only be pockets of time that I have a small interest in. My greatest love however is Arthurian Legends. I think because there are no definite answers to Arthur, Merlin & Co, the mystery is kept alive.
I read whenever I can, mostly Arthurian fiction and reference, and anything that fits in with my interests, including Poetry. I have attempted to write the odd poem or two, one of my favourite pieces that I penned a couple of years back can be found on here. I also dabble in photography, but I am by no means an expert.
I can't really explain my beliefs; I had the usual part-Christian upbringing, but find many Pagan beliefs true and close to my heart.
If I had one wish, it would be to look back in time, maybe even visit, that would be magic to me.

STONEHENGE
Here oft, when Evening sheds her twilight ray,
And gilds with fainter beam departing day,
With breathless gaze, and cheek with terror pale,
The lingering shepherd startles at the tale,
How, at deep midnight, by the moon's chill glance,
Unearthly forms prolong the viewless dance;
While on each whisp'ring breeze that murmurs by,
His busied fancy hears the hollow sigh.
Thomas Stokes Salmon. 1823
