Starting out in Aotearoa New Zealand, Pauly K still remembers his first gigs when he began DJ-ing as part of a professional mobile disco business: "Bass Systems". The business was a huge success and led Pauly to play in most clubs, pubs, bars & hotels in the Bay of Plenty area.With the first few years of his journey spent concentrating on all genre's for his professional mobile Dj business then moving to Hip Hop/R'n'B, Pauly quickly became known throughout the local music scene as "Paora" and praised for his incredible mixing skills. The discovery of the depth and variety of house music resulted in Pauly switching direction. After all, house music is all about the love and the good vibes. Auckland before starting a job as producer at a local radio station, he then moved to Wellington to start a job in a recording studio as assistant engineer & manager of the rehearsal rooms then onto a position as the DJ/PA/Synth and Hightech Specialist at Mainline Music Works. Pauly provided a valuable contribution to the company: on his own initiative, Pauly had re-organized the entire Hi-Tech Department, a task that was monumental with the result of promotion into the management position of that department. His creative side was also exercised as he organized many 'Demo' nights. From a successful job at Mainline Music Works, Pauly switched to DMC Records as equipment speacialist & assistant manager and further concentrated on his musical career playing at a lot of clubs in Wellington with a major gig at Alpine Unity the biggest new years event in New Zealand - in 2004. He played an impressive two sets: House & Hip Hop, a major accomplishment for a man so young.Pauly K has had a warm welcome in Australia, playing at Alhambra, Berlin, Birdee Num Num, Capital, Elsewhere, Envy, Family, Label Gallery, Premiers, Quid, Shuck, Sunbar, Temple, The Melbourne Hotel, The Ruby Tramp, Tooleys, Twelve Lounge Bar & Watergate. He now has regular gigs in Australia, Indonesia & Aotearoa New Zealand..Throughout his life, Pauly K has experienced so much of the music industry - from owning his own business's to being part of a recording studio, doing promotions, playing at private parties and even setting up concerts.
