You're in Rio . You're in Cotonou . You're in Marakesh. All the streets resemble each other in the Megapolis of the Funk Universe. All the influences come together at the Rhythmic Crossroads. Since 1998, DFK has pounded the pavement in hopes of making people dance, on the streets and at festivals. Like a burning comet, the group engages a fiery procession led into trance through unyielding rhythms. Suddenly the wall of sound shifts to a tribal electronic groove with perfect breaks and timely beats. Interspersed with seismic shifts and chilling silences, a choreography of music and movement leads the listener into new territory. Don Fiasko on stage!
For the last 10 years, DFK has made the street into their own highly charged stage, showing off their unbridled rhythms and endless exuberance. It was time to extend the scene from the streets of Bamako or Rio to a place closer to home. This indoor version, created in 2008, is a perfectly calculated yet experimentally driven show that integrates samplers, vocals and brass among others. The raw energy and street madness are still there, just without the street. The fire burns and fuels an electro-acoustic project that reacts to the needs of a live show.
