PaRk AvEnUe

Park Avenue was established in 1988. It was the ONLY rock club in Columbus, at the time, that featured local and national "METAL" acts. Such acts emerged, for the first time, in Columbus at PARK AVENUE...including: Sepultura, Obituary, Candlemass, Type O Negative and Sanctuary which rammed open the secret gates to a frenzied lineup. This music wasn't sliding in the backdoor anymore! Park Avenue embraced the local scene of METAL and gave many bands an outlet to showcase their dexterity. Most of the national talent that performed on stage, appear in the "friends" section of our space, others we have yet to hear from...and some we just don't know where they are now. In 1994, Park Avenue yelled "last call" and closed its doors. METAL continues to be exposed and promoted in Columbus, thanks to The Alrosa Villa (Rick Cautela), Newport Music Hall "Promowest", Skully's, High Five Bar and The Billard Club, just to name a few. +++Long Live METAL!+++.. .. .. ..
