About Me
www.myspace.com/rockacademyofdupage-Bobby K. was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. He grew up consumed by music; listening to and emulating anything he could get his hands or ears onto. He started playing bass at age 10, and then acoustic guitar at age 14. Dabbling in the occassional garage band, he know not the path that lay before him. After highschool, Bob moved to New York City to study musical theatre professionally at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Longing for something deeper and more meaningful he began to pour his heart out through his songs. And during his training, he obtained the crucial knowledge and skills that would eventually make his music fly. Bobby K. was slowly starting to perform some originals he'd been working on at various open mics around NYC. It wasn't until the magical workings of Craigslist brought him an sublet apartment in Brooklyn, NY, that his desire to succeed was sparked. It was there, in the 'Navy Yard' that he met his then, and current mentor, Joseph Blaise, an intensely passionate and original musician in his own right. Living, breathing, and writing with Joe helped Bob realize that making music was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life, and that it WAS possible... In the summer of 2005, Bob returned to Chicago to continue work on his first solo album, "DON'T BE AFRAID". He wrote, composed, arranged, played all of the instruments, recorded, produced, and mixed all but 2 songs on the whole album by himself... In addition to performing his original material, (solo), around the Chicagoland area, Bob is currently a member of two other projects in or around Chi-town. He currently plays bass and sings with a Rock/Funk/Blues group called 'THE ROCKIN MOUNTAIN OYSTERS'.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
