Established December 2001, the Southern High Band has went through many changes over the past 8 years. Including various musicians that have come and gone. All which are still thought of highly and missed even more.
Currently, the band's crew consist of Tony Moore, Joe Shaw, Chris Carter, Billy Lowry, and Larry Wayne. Individually, their tastes in music widely varies. But combined, they truly have created a unique sound by combining their many loves of different genres. The sound is unique yet comfortable according to the many patrons they have performed in front of over the years. One never knows what to expect as the band easily transist from a funky grooving beat, into a soulful country love ballad, then crank up the adrenaline with a powerful guitar slashin' head bangin' southern rock classic. Not to mention the extremely talented ability of performer Chris Carter to be able to ad-lib hip rap lyrics into almost any tune.
Audiences everywhere have been expressive in their overwhelming surprise at just how impressed they are with the band's performances. Whether it's with veteran SHB member, Tony Moore, with his powerful crooning voice or fellow SHB veteran, Joe Shaw's elite guitar rifts. The crowd is continuously raving on with positive feedback.
Key to the SHB's success is their awesome stage presence. Able to pump up the crowd from start to finish with the electric showmanship of Tony Moore, Chris Carter, and the rest of the SHB crew.
