Dave has been a musician for thirty years, having played cornet at school and taken up guitar as a teenager, doing his first pub gigs in his native Black Country in the mid eighties.
Whilst doing his degree at Nottingham University, Dave managed the student union's PA system (because it was much more fun than writing essays) and provided systems and knob-tweaking for the likes of Hazel O'Connor, Bad Manners, Tom Robinson and John Otway.
After moving to Northamptonshire in 1990, Dave was a founder member of several bands, including Flipside, Face to Face, Double or Quits (with blues harmonica virtuoso Steve Jennings) and Blackjack. He has also gigged regularly with Robbo Robinson (Barbary Coast) and the Fred Chase Band.
In 1997, Dave gave up the day job to study full-time at London's Guitar Institute, attaining the only distinction grade of the year. He has since gigged with Max Milligan, Johnny Mars and Zoot Money. He was also a regular dep with Northampton-based Ginger Pig Band joining them for the Ascona Jazz Festival in 2006.
After spending a year travelling round the world (during which he managed to squeeze in a gig with Ironing Board Sam in Jackson MS) and 18 months in New Zealand, Dave is now based in the Midlands, enjoying some dep gigs - more with Ginger Pig and Beer Parlor Jivers . Good times.....
