Jazz Special review in english : Blues-rock veteran Niels Ole Poulin has one of the phattest vocals at the danish blues scene. And at the same time his own melodic and personal approach to the music. With his group No Shoes from Haderslev, he did the blues album of the year with help from among others Shawn Gonzales, Hermann Heinz, Calvin "Fuzzy" Samuel (bass player from legendary Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young) and Kenn Lending. No Shoes is down home blues cookin' from top drawer. A contageous happines for playing from the four boys of the southern jylland, and its lovely to hear a voice that dosnt conceil that cigerettes are ment to be smoked! At the same time is the musical expression very clear, fine backing vocals and dirty guitarslidesolos brings hansom character to this release.
