About Me

A long time ago, back in the day......Marc "Cool Hand" Clapp started his career as a boxer, after fighting Joe Lois to a 12 round draw he then headed down the highway eventually riding the railroads with Woody Guthrie for many years before stopping off in Oklahoma where he taught a young Mickey Mantle everything he knows about hitting. Then came WWII, and Clapp was an independant contractor who is credited with 367,000 nazi kills. After that he hitched a ride with Jack Kerouac, and they drove all over the country taking in the sites, meeting girls, writing poems and getting drunk along the way.In the 50's Clapp running a malt shop and working as an intern for Alan Freed in Detroit, Alan put on a record and Clapp proclaimed "This music is making me Rock and Roll" and thus a legend was born.Early 60's, He then went to New York and gave acting lessons to James Dean and Marlon Brando. After that he moved in with Bob Dylan where they wrote songs and smoke cigarettes until Dylan went electric....... the two never spoke again. He met a young woman to which they moved to California. It was there that Clapp invented surfing and coined the phrase "surfs up". He took piano lessons with Warren Zevon and the two became a fixture on the LA diner scene. He got a job as John Wayne's stunt double and bodyguard......Then came Vietnam. After two tours with Fred "Mr. Rogers", five purple hearts and a congressional medal of honor later for serving in the Army, Marines, Navy AND Air Force. Then came the 70's and film school with Martin Scorcese and Brian Depalma. Later Clapp became the first person to wear a mohawk giving birth to the punk scene. He achieved the all time high score on Astroids. In the early 80's he had a car repair shop called "Broke down" with Tom Waits in East St. Louis. After selling the business, he went to Wall Street and made his millions in the stock market. Only to lose everything betting on Oakland in the 88 World Series. In the 90's Clapp invented the internet and make all his money back betting on the 92 Dallas Cowboys Superbowl. He then went to work in Seattle as a drug counselor for the music scene. Then came the 2000's where Clapp reemerged from public service to form the Del Bombers in Austin Texas. As well as movie company Wrong Stance Pictures. Later came Under the Influence as well as a short stint in Sombitch. Today Clapp is back and better than ever with a new record "My teenage idol is missing" produced at Diego Studios in Austin Texas by Kendal Trevino ans various others. It's due out this summer.
