I played baritone saxophone for several years with legendary Gugge Hedrenius Big Blues Band. Earlier I have played with Nisse Sandstrom, Marie Selander, Tuomo Haapala, April Light Orchestra; even earlier I was the leader of Salamander.
A couple of years ago my own group at the time, Cecilia Wennerstrom Quartet, made two CDs: Minor Stomp and Stuck Zipper (Four Leaf Clover Records).
I do some experimental stuff in Duo Wela (with Sven Larsson) and we toured in Russia during the Russian Swedish year Sweden:Upgrade 2006.
In Ellman/Larsson Constellation we play, among other things, compositions by Rolf Ericson, Lars Farnlof, Lars Gullin and other Swedish jazz giants, all in arrangements for three horns by Sven Larsson.
I enjoy very much playing now and then with my friends in the ladies entertainment big band Satin Dolls.
The recent constellation where I am active as a band leader (and here I play tenor saxophone, as I once started) is the quintet Fafner, together with alto saxophone player Amanda Sedgwick. The group has just made its first tour in Sweden and the other members are Carl Bagge(piano), Kenji Rabson(bass) and Moussa Fadera(drums).
