Capital 95.8 Competition

About Me

Vote for your favourite act and see them live on stage 26th April!
Capital 95.8 and Intel have announced the four finalists who, with your help, have chance to perform at Capital's forthcoming Face to Face gig featuring Ghosts.
The race is now on for you to decide who should be the winner and with only four finalists left, you need to know all you can to make your voting decision easier....
Bo Pepper
Bo Pepper are Dolly, Jonny Dangerous, Nicky T and E.Nailor and their music has been compared to the likes of the 'Yeah Yeah Yeahs' and 'The Gossip'. The band haven't been signed as yet but already have a huge following over here in the UK and also overseas. Their song, "Buses" is certainly helping to stoke the fire. The video for it has already had a record 30,000 hits and their total video hits are already way over the 60,000 mark. Bo Pepper’s image makes them stand out from the crowd and their latest puppet-fronted video 'I'm Bored' out on the 6th March ensures their ‘unique’ promos are fast becoming a worldwide talking point!

Katie Parker & The Elements
Katie Parker & The Elements are a distinctive retro guitar-driven rock band fronted by the flexible and powerful voice of Katie Parker. They fuse old style riffs with edgy rhythm driven commercial rock. Her songwriting, with its incisive and relevant lyrical content, is underpinned by her skills as a drummer, allowing Katie to draw on strong rhythmically-driven melodies. Overall, this brings an eclectic mix of skills and influences which are brought to the fore front in the powerful beats which are highly characteristic of the band.

Public Symphony
Public Symphony, a two-piece which formed in a studio in London’s Brick Lane, boast an expansive sound that is both beautiful and powerful, drawing references with Pink Floyd, Massive Attack and Keane. According to band mambers Dobs and James, the intention of their songs is to inspire and lift your spirits.
Someone who was recently touched by their music includes the band Marillion who invited the two to support them at their gigs at the London Forum in June this year, where the boys will try and run their set along with our animated visuals if at all possible.
Their band name stands for serving the public combined with harmonious sounds.

Trail
Trail are five guys from Finchley in North London and they mean business. Their track 'City' recently made it into the final of the O2 Undiscovered competition and they can now look forward to playing a set at one of the major festivals taking place in Hyde Park this summer. Drawing their inspiration from Rock, Blues, Classical and the wonderous surrounding that is the North Circular road, the pair emerged with a handful of songs ranging from the epic rock of I Want To Know to the chilled out funk of Take It Slow.
Dark but uplifting. Powerful but subtle. Unique but identifiable. It's this whirlwind blend of contradictions that defines Trail's sound. The name comes from the idea that as we exit our student-hood and reluctantly take on adult-hood, each of us has to find his or her own path and own journey.
