I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

Welcome to my dusty Myspace page! My name is Steve Moore, but you probably knew that already. I think I can do a pretty good job of distilling my life into a few paragraphs. So if you're brave enough, read on.
I am an Army contractor working as a systems engineer and network manager. Most days are challenging and enjoyable. My specialty areas are Linux servers and network infrastructure, but I'm involved with just about everything the IT department does. I enjoy trying to stay current in the field and continue to further my education by pursuing a master's degree and various well-respected industry certifications. In 2-5 years, I will probably want to move and follow a different path: IT management, Linux engineering exclusively, or become a certification trainer (maybe Red Hat.)
When I get home, my focus often shifts to my other passion: the clarinet and classical music. At the peak of my abilities, I was concertizing at the top of many area ensembles, playing all the literature I could get my hands on, and generally immersing myself in all aspects of the art. These days, I'm happy playing with the El Paso Wind Symphony during the first half of the year, and putting on a recital during the second half. If I won the lottery today, I would probably quit my job, earn the DMA, and try to play professionally. I primarily listen to classical music and have a pretty large library. My musical choices are not very popular with others so I do most of my listening in private.I'm extremely easy-going and annoyingly non-confrontational. I am also not the most socially adept person you'll ever meet. I struggled for many years to make friends, but I mostly do okay with that now. I run out of things to say pretty quickly, but I'm always listening and interested in what people are saying. If I seem snobby or stuck up-- I'm not. Really! Talk to me, you'll make my day. Romantic relationships are still a challenge. Opportunities are rare and I take few chances. All in all, I haven't had a bad run, but so far anybody whom I think is perfect for me is either already taken or completely not interested.
I am always looking to learn new things. Since I graduated, I have picked up scuba diving, cooking, golf, basketball, and random other knowledge-- not all of it useful! I hope to travel the world and become a very well-rounded person. I'm also looking help people and give back. I have always preached balance, but it's also okay to tip the scales once in a while...
Well, that's me. I think! Thank you so much for reading.

So Larry Combs retires at the end of the 2007-2008 season. Wouldn't that gig be a blast?? Now if I could only find my big binder of orchestral parts! :-p

Input into the gray matter many time...?!

I think I am better suited to taking 1 class at a time due to the way I procrastinate. With 1 class, I can work lightly during the week and do the projects , readings, and the majority of the posting...
