Enlightening was founded March 1999 by a vision from God given to SiS Lalisa Barnes. Enlightening consisted of five memebers and even through their transition in 2003, Enlightening continues to strive in faith with help of our Lord for the better. Many have come and gone, some even helped out when neededI was our leaning and depending on Jesus that has brought us this far. God has blessed Enlightening with three new members and two musicians whom have been together for three beautiful long years. The songs you hear or have heard are songs that were written and arranged by Enlightening themselves.From the beginning to present Enlightening has shared the stage with many gospel legends such as: The Exciting Heaven Dee-Etts, Damon Little and Nu Beginning, George Dean and The Gospel Four, Jay Cauldwell and The Gospel Ambassadors, The Soul Stirrers and Keith"Wonderboy" Johnson just to name a few.Gods blessings did not stop there Enlightening has traveled to several cities to minsiter in song. Enlightening has attented many conventions, talent shows and musicfest. God keeps opening doors by allowing us to complete not one but four studio projects. Many awards have been presented to Enlightening in the catorgires of Duo Female Group and New Artist.Enlighten concludes: " It's humbling and it really shows that God's message can come in all kinds of packages. All we can say is that we are so thankful to God for allowing us to help carry the message to the WORLD".
