Hillary Hawkins began her professional career in the musical production of “Betsey Brown” at Crossroads Theater, which was followed by her television-singing debut as the voice of Vanessa on Nickelodeon’s “Gullah Gullah Island”. Better known as Robyn, host of Nick Jr., having introduced shows such as “Dora The Explorer”‚ “Little Bill” and “Bob the Builder”, Hillary also played the part of Kate on “Are You Afraid of the Dark”, Keisha on “New York Under Cover” and most recently Lida in the Growing Stage Theatre production of “A Midnight Cry”. Hillary can be found on the cover of several books such as the “Cadette Girl Scout Handbook”, “Humming Whispers” and “Rainbow Jordan” and is known in Japan for her role as Jennifer in the Berlitz Educational Video Series “Ekaiwa Challenge”. A bilingual talent, Hillary has recorded numerous commercials in English and Spanish and her voice can be heard in the Academy award winning film “Dead Man Walking”, “Honeydripper”, “Noise” and the FX series “Damages”, to name a few. A former Radio Personality for WEIB 106.3 Smooth FM, Hillary is currently a Host for Radio Disney AM 1560 as well as a freelance bilingual copywriter. Hillary was discovered by 13-time Grammy Award winner Donovan Knowles and is now working on her album. She placed as a top songwriter and suggested artist in the VH1 “Song of The Year Contest” and is passionate about writing not only songs but also screenplays, one of which won honorable recognition in the Denis Johnston Playwriting competition. Hillary loves telling stories and is thrilled to be a part of “African Folk Tales”, educational theater being brought to schools all over New York and New Jersey by TheatreworksUSA!
