Grady Shawver

............................................................ .................................................... I remember the night I ran into Grady Shawver for the first time. It was a dark smokey night club in Los Angeles and I couldn't believe the sounds that this tall red headed guitarist was wrestling out of his electric six string. The fact that it was a smokey night club should tip you off that this was several years ago. Since that time we have worked together on a wide variety of projects and band configurations. I have always been awed by his talent, tireless energy and sense of humor. I call Grady Birthday Cake. It came about as a joke one night with a friend while watching him play. She said even though it was my birthday that if it were hers, she'd rather have Grady than birthday cake. Ever since then she and I refer to him as Birthday Cake. It's a compliment and meant only in fun. Grady is one of the best guitar players I've ever had the pleasure of recording with, performing with and being friends with. His talent seems to emanate from his passion and he lets it out from the heart. His voice is equally excellent and his lyrics are amazingly profound yet simple and honest.
