Shotgun Superstar started out as a three piece band called DEMO who had gathered a loyal local following from playing countless shows in the Vancouver area. After having to part ways with their good friend and bass player Boner, DEMO recruited long time friend Wyatt to fill the position as the bands bass player, and with that change DEMO decided to add a second guitarist to create more depth in their live show. DEMO would audition many guitarists before they would meet Darren. Darren was an instant gel for Marty, adding not only great guitar skills but the harmonies that the band was looking for. This happened just before the 2008 new year and with all the changes, DEMO decided to change their name to Shotgun Superstar. The band since has been added to the 272 records family with two songs on two different compilation c.d.s, Strip to This on the Kill City vol.5 and Darker Side on the Riot on Sunset Vol.9. With influences ranging from Guns n Roses to The Foo Fighters, these guys have created some melodic hard rock while maintaining the capability to strip their songs down to an acoustic rock level. Fueled by wiskey, the love to play music, the drive to work hard and do what it takes to get heard; this band is a force, determined to be a house hold name.
Shotgun Superstar is here to put the Rock back in Rock n Roll, which we all know has been dead for many years. So stick around and enjoy the ride cause it̢۪s about to get crazy.
