I Don't Come to Bow Down-I Come To Conquer

About Me

There are four bands signed to v69 records at this time. Hall of Justice, The Cleveland Steamers, Techtonics and Sleeper Hold. Only three of those four bands are featured here on myspace, with the odd band out being Sleeper Hold. They are currently hard at work recording thier debut album. The first single from Hall of Justice, Birth Defects, is a real ripper. Lyrically, the song deals with the feelings of physical inadequecy that people suffer from in a world where beauty is everything. "It's OK to be fucked up and ugly", says lead guitarist Keiran D. Bravo Keiran! We salute you! Staplehammer, by The Cleveland Steamers, is as brutal as the title would suggest. It's based on a true story involving a group of would-be-cowardly assailants, and one mean and nasty equalizer. Get a Move On , by Techtonics, is a fiery pick-you-up-off-your-ass jam with highly motivational lyrics, some James Bond-ish like music and groovy danceable beats. The last song featured here, Forget the World, is by the now defunct New Wave/Rock band from the U.K., The Ligers. They were making some waves in the underground scene in London. They had a promising future, but it all came to and end with the "mysterious and unexplained" death of founding member, lead vocalist and main songwriter Lester Shaguna. The authorities are stumped, and they have been mysteriously quiet about the details surrounding the case. Some of the members of The Ligers went on to form Sleeper Hold. V69 is a renegade label. We are not in this game to try to get rich. V69 is a low budget label. We like to think that we produce high quality albums. This is only the beginning. Stay tuned for more to come...

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Hall of Justice, the first act signed to V69, are from Portland, Maine. Hall of Justice is a Hard Rock/Alternative outfit with heavy hitting music and intense thought provoking lyrics. It seems that their ultimate goal is not rock stardom, but to enlighten people and wake them up and shake them up to the scary reality of the world which we live in today. Techtonics, an "Elect-dustrial Unit", as they like to be referred to, are from Brooklyn, New York. As one can tell by their self picked genre name, Techtonics mixes up electronica and industrial to make a sound that is sometimes light and trippy, and other times heavy and in your face. The Cleveland Steamers are a nasty, loud, rude bunch of punk rockers who are now calling Boston their home, although no one is quite sure of where in the world the members of this band of urchins, criminals and drifters are from, everyone can be sure that they mean buisness. Just listen to their first single "Staplehammer". As legend has it this song is based on a true story, so if they come to your town be sure not to piss them off. Sleeper Hold with members from Britain, Germany, Ireland, Russia and Kentucky is a band that appeals to listeners of psychadelia, accoustic tales of sorrow, and hopeful songs of love. Some members of Sleeper Hold are former members of The Ligers, the fourth band featured here. The Ligers were a promising New-Wave/Rock group from the U.K. that met its tragic end with the passing of its frontman Lester Shaguna, who's mysterious death is still under investigation. The group was in the studio recording their first single "Forget the World" when Shaguna met his untimely end. Sadly, "Forget the World" is the only known recording ever made by this band.
Influences: All of the bands on this label have many different influeces. From the theme to The Muppet Show, Barry Manillo, Various Music Box Jingles, The Airy Sound of Flatulence, to the howl of the moonlight over an alien planet. There are so many that it wouldn't be worth the time to list them all. Influences aren't important anyway, the proof is in the pudding and we all love stirring the pudding with our fingers (and licking them off when we're done.)

Supreme Court (Jesters)

This country is in big trouble.  The supreme court banned medical marijuana use by people who suffer through horrible pain and suffering.  Some true Christian compassion for you right there....
