I recently returned to Bellingham from a 10 month trip in Asia. My first stop was Thailand where I volunteered and attended The 3rd Conference On Gross National Happiness. I went to Bhutan to volunteer with the Tarayana Foundation. We finished a skills workshop at Samtse College of Education for the Tarayana clubs from all over Bhutan. After a wonderful time in Thimphu, living well and continuing volunteer work with Tarayana, I left Bhutan at the end of March for a brief visit throughout South India including Pune, Mangalore, the Kerala Coast, and Auroville near Pondicherry. Then I went to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal (why not) then flew from Delhi to Leh and stayed for 1.5 months of volunteer work with SECMOL , an NGO that works on education and sustainability issues in Ladakh. I decided to return to Bhutan for a month and a half to volunteer with Tarayana again. After that, in August I went to Japan and Taiwan before heading home.
