About Me

Layout Created at KillerKiwi.net
Singing from the day she was born, Donna was not serenaded by lullabies as a child, but by Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon", Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin and The Who. Her mother and father were always supportive and saw to it Donna had the right influences. At 13, this native New Yorker headed to California, not knowing what she would find. Music was everywhere and by the age of 15 Donna converted her singing in the shower to playing the local clubs in Ventura and Ojai, in both a Jazz and Top 40 band. Playing her way through college at UCLA, she fronted two top 40 bands and in the late 80's and early 90's, she sang with the Rush-influenced progressive rock band PERIL. The band spent many years playing on the Sunset strip at such venues as the Roxy, Troubadour and Whisky a Go Go. Over the past few years, Donna has teamed up with guitarist Dave Chura playing classic acoustic rock in the South bay area. You can catch her playing with the Mark Fichett Band as well as sitting in with local blues bands in the area. With a second wind in life, Donna has recently been inspired to start writing songs again; some of her originals are here on the website. Enjoy!
