I miei primi ricordi musicali sono le canzoni che sentivo provenire dalle case dei vicini, dalle radio delle altre cucine... ma…Un bel giorno inSvezia, dove abitava mia nonna, dalla stanza della sorella maggiore di un'amichetta, proveniva una musica affascinante… era "She loves You" dei Beatles! In quel periodo divoravo fumetti di fantascienza americani e ancora oggi se mi capita di sentire le canzoni dei Beatles di quegli anni, vedo grossi lombrichi extraterrestri e affascinanti signorine bionde in fuga!
Poi scoprii le cantanti francesi: Francoise Hardy, Sylvie Vartan… eppure quando John Cage veniva a Roma in concerto io ero sempre lì. …non avrei mai pensato che poi avrei fatto tante, tante volte i suoi "Song Books" che in un certo senso mi avrebbero guidata nel mio destino. Un'altra epifania fu l'ascolto di “Walk on the wild side" di Lou Reed e lì scoppiò un grande amore. Cominciai a interessarmi poi di jazz, vecchie canzoni, voci... La mia ossessione divenne Anita O'Day, a volte mi immaginavo cantante bebop e intanto studiavo il flauto traverso, suonavo Händel e Bach ma nello stesso tempo cercavo pezzi moderni più che mai e poi avevo il sogno del teatro e del movimento.
Prendevo lezioni da Michael Aspinall, un eccentrico cantante inglese che interpreta note dive del canto del passato. Le mie nottate passavano a suon di Miles Davis o Gina X, Kraftwerk, Earth Wind & Fire, Milly, Marlene Dietrich... Poi mi sono trasferita a Berlino e la mia vita è cambiata molto, anche grazie ad una serie fortunata e fortuita di incontri, primo fra tutti quello con Dieter Schnebel che faceva dei seminari su Cage; mi ha aperto la strada verso quella che sarebbe diventata la mia principale incarnazione,la cantante di musica contemporanea, fin quando nel mio peregrinare artistico le mie strade hanno incrociato quelle di Rupert Huber che mi aveva dato il disco "Opera" dei Tosca (il suo progetto insieme a Richard Dorfmeister), tanto ritmo e tanto groove, ne sono rimasta davvero colpita
Qualche mese più tardi collaborai al nuovo album e con Tosca feci "Suzuki" e "Delhi9". Poi arrivarono i Dining Rooms, bellissima la loro "Mr.Dupont" e con loro abbiamo lavorato all'album "Tre".
Nel frattempo, spinta anche da Rupert Huber, si fece spazio in me l'idea di fare un mio progetto musicale. Così ho coinvolto il mio amico Thomas Stern, che aveva lavorato con Einstürzende Neubauten, e tra un concerto e l'altro andavo a prendere una boccata d'aria nel suo Lost in Space Studio, ancora una volta a Berlino. Con lui è nato l'album "Love is a Reason". Abbiamo arrangiato e prodotto i pezzi insieme in una continua piacevole atmosfera di gioco e sperimentazione. E’ stata quindi una logica conseguenza fare alcuni dei pezzi di "Love is a reason" sia con Dining Rooms che con Rupert Huber e dopo tanto girovagare l'incontro con i romanissimi Digital Delicatessen ha dato la forma definitiva all'intero progetto di "Love is a reason" e mi ha aperto definitivamente mente e cuore.

My first musical memories were the songs that I could hear coming from other people’s houses close to ours. One day when I was Sweden at my grandmother's I heard some amazing music coming from her older sister’s roomThat was the time I was always reading science fiction comics and, even now, every time I hear a Beatles track from those days I can see gigantic extraterrestrial worms and fleeing seductive blondes.
Then I discovered french singers: Francois Hardy, Sylvie Vartan .....but when John Cage performed in Rome I was always there; I never imagined I would later do the “Song Books†so many times, that in a certain sense he would have guided my destiny. Another "revelation" was “Walk on the Wild Side†by Lou Reed and another great love was born. Then I got into jazz, old songs, voices… My new obsession became Anita O’Day who became a part of my everyday life and of my dreams. Sometimes I imagined myself as a bebop singer. I studied the flute, I played Handel and Bach and I wanted to do difficult music, I searched for more modern pieces harder than ever before and at the same time I dreamt of theatre and movement.
I took lessons from Michael Aspinall, an eccentric English singer who interpreted famous singers from the past. Nights were spent to the sound of Miles Davis, or Gina X, Kraftwerk, Earth Wind & Fire, Milly , Marlene Dietrich… Then I moved to Berlin where my life changed a lot also thank to several fortunate and lucky encounters, first of all the one with Dieter Schnebel who was doing a seminar on Cage. It showed the path that I then would have followed with my main "incarnation", as a contemporary music singer, until my ways crossed Rupert Huber's ones when he gave me
me a copy of “Opera†by Tosca (his project together with Richard Dorfmeister). It was full of rhythm and groove, I was amazed.
Some months later I found myself collaborating on their new album and I took part on both albums "Suzuki" and "Delhi 9". Then I met the Dining Rooms: Their “Mr Dupont†had really grabbed me and I collaborated with them on their new album, “Treâ€.
In the meantime, pushed also by Rupert Huber I started to think about creating my own musical project. I slowly came to the conclusion I had to make my own album, exactly how I wanted it to be.
I got in touch with my friend, Thomas Stern, I knew that he had worked with Einstuerzende Neubauten, and between concerts I took breaks in his Lost in Space studio in Berlin. So there "Love is a Reason" was born. We arranged and produced the tracks in a continuous pleasant atmosphere of play and experiment. It was, therefore, a logical consequence to do some pieces on "Love is a reason" with the Dining Rooms and some with Rupert Huber and after all this travelling around, last but not least, came the super-roman team of Digital Delicatessen, who looked after the entire project, opened my mind and my heart.
And now is time to turn the page once again and go on with my fabolous journey...
And here I'm back again. With lots of new energy and enthusiasm.
