In the winter of 1998 Frank Maggio got together with drummer Rob Messina in the basement of Rob's house in Sound Beach and began playing cover songs from bands such as Black Sabbath, Down, and Crowbar, just to name a few. Then Frank started to write his own songs once he & Rob were comfortable with each other. Soon after Jay Brennan, who was living with Rob and was a long time friend of Frank's, stepped in to play bass. Frank & Jay were in a cover band named MYSTEMA with John Moritz on drums, Jay Brennan on guitar, Frank Maggio on bass, and two differant singers that both had severe drug & alcohol problems back in the early 80's.
After MYSTEMA broke up Frank started the band SOCIAL DISEASE, still playing bass but writing all the songs on the guitar. SOCIAL DISEASE was made up of Frank Maggio on bass, Steve Seigerman on guitar, Doug Bohn on drums, and the same two "singers" from MYSTEMA. SOCIAL DISEASE was together from 1986 to 1990. Then Frank switched to guitar for the EVILEYE project and soon after added Josh Barhon on second guitar.
Frank & Josh were friends for many years and also played together in a band called IRONLUNG that Josh started in Florida a couple of years before which had Josh Barhon on guitar, Steve Seigerman on guitar, Frank Maggio on bass, Doug Bohn on drums and one of the "singers" from MYSTEMA & SOCIAL DISEASE. Then bassist Mark Astrin was added to the EVILEYE lineup. Frank knew Mark from back in the IRONLUNG days when he had left IRONLUNG and Mark took over the bass duties for him. IRONLUNG was together from about 1992 to 1998. In late 1999 Rob left EVILEYE and My Colin took over the drumming duties. Josh Barhon left for Australia in 2005 with his family and now has a band called MaMMoth that is tearing up the music scene down under.
EVILEYE's current lineup now is: Mark Astrin on bass, Frank c. Maggio on drums, and Frank Maggio on guitar.
