Celebritywise, I would love to meet Mike Massey. He seems like a cultured fellow, his speaking style is eloquent, and he has excellent showmanship. He seems like rather a warm personality and the quintessential gentleman. Plus, if I could grow a beard like his my nickname wouldn't be Shaggy! And of course who can forget his insane skills in artistic billiards? The man is so good it's almost like the rules of physics take a flying leap when he wields his cue.
Well, I dunno, I've been on quite a musical journey so I'm just gonna ramble on about that for a while. I used to listen to Hip-Hop but that was years ago, way back before gangster rap was even a blip on the radar and it was actually possible to find a music video on MTV! We're talking like the The Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff, and that dude who sang Boombastic, whatever his name was. I never got heavily into that but my best friend at the time was an African-American. This was also before all the white bread dudes started getting into rap because it was Boss, and pretending they were Black. So that was my old-old-school days. The first music I got really into was 80's metal. The first album I ever bought with my own money was Metallica's "Load" I listened to nothing but 80's metal for years. Bands like Firehouse, Dio, Ratt, Whitesnake, Great White, AC/DC (of course), Quiet Riot, Def Leppard, Dokken (one of my own personal favorites. The melodic vocals of Don Dokken really stood out from the rest of the pack) I've stil got Dokken's "Breaking the Chains" on Vynyl! The Scorpions were the mainstream metal at the time, but I never liked them very much personally. So that was my metal kick and it lasted for several years. After that I got into rock and roll for a few years. I mostly listened to KJEE and KTYD. However I eventually got sooo burned out on that stuff. Everybody listens to rock and roll it seems, and I started hearing the same songs over and over again, songs like "Purple Rain", Pink Floyd's "Time", "Hey Jude", That song from Eric Clapton's band Cream, you know the one I'm talking about. I started to loose my enjoyment of music. I mean it was good stuff, these songs are legendary and there's a reason they're still around, but I heard them waaaaay to many times and I started jonesing for something new. I heard a CD 2 or 3 years ago from a band called "Down to the Bone" and that blew my musical tastes wide open, after listening to that band I started in on some Jazz and through that I kept getting exposed to all these other musical genres and whenever I heard a song I liked I would explore it more. I like Motown, blues, some pop, singer-songwriters like Elvis, Elton John (so talented!), BB King, Norah Jones, Buddy Holly, Bob Seiger, Luthor Vandross, etc. So through all that there has been only one constant that I can remember. I've always liked Billy Joel. The first album of his I ever heard was "River of Dreams" cause my parents had it. That was before I had the money to buy my own music and I was stuck with my parents collection of LP's. Also I have one more confession to make. I listen to some Country. Wait! Don't leave, hear me out! I think Country gets a bad rep that it doesn't deserve. I'm sure you've all heard of the jokes... What happens when you play country music backwards? Your dog doesn't die and your girlfriend doesn't leave you. Or What do you get when you mix Country and Rap? Crap! Well all that stuff is true about traditional country music. But the stuff I listen to is modern country, which has a lot of pop and rock influences. What's up with Rock BTW? It's like the one musical genre that "gets around!" Every other musical genre has like rock influences now. In fact the country music that I listen to isn't really considered country by country music purists cause it's too rockified. So, as you can see, I like a whole lot of different stuff. Lately I've been hooked on Podcasts as well, so I get to hear a lot of Dutch bands from Wales and stuff like that. Just about the only music I can't really stand is like Riff-Rock songs from talentless bands, and that's all I have to say about that!
I don't watch a whole lot of movies actually, not that I don't like them, but I usually watch them on DVD or something with my friends instead of going to the theatre. One of my favorite movies is "The Labrynth" (I did warn you already that I was weird right?) I also like "La Femme Nikita", old-school car culture movies like "American Graffiti", "Two Lane Blacktop", "Vanishing Point" I like cult classics like "The Chase" or "Field of Dreams" "The Natural" and "The Legend of Bagger Vance" My favorite actors include Allison Hannigan, Will Smith, Robert Redford, Jonny Depp, hmmm... I'm not too good with names so I can't think of more off the top of my head right now. I'll add more later.
There's only 2 television series' that I have watched every single episode of from beginning to end. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Awesome, awesome show! Joss Wheedon is a genious! and The X-Files as well. I try to avoid getting into sitcoms because I'm afraid my brain is going to rot, but I love watching "Scrubs" Dr. Cox slays me! And Coupling...thanks to Risa. I also like Futurama cause that show is hilarious! I'm constantly disappointed with the television industry because they keep dumbing everything down to avoid confusing the woefully slow-witted general populace. For example they canceled Futurama and kept the Simpsons!! I guess the jokes in Futurama were just too witty when pitted against Homer's utterly hilarious cries of "Doh!" I'll admit I used to watch The Simpsons as well, but I got sick of it years ago, like in the 2nd season or something. I usually prefer to watch dramas, but every time something compelling comes along they cancel it so most of them aren't around any more. I liked "Tru Calling" and "The Pretender" and "Firefly" Currently though I've been watching "Lost" I wasn't too sure about it at first, but they started coming up with some interesting phenomena soon after it's debut. I also like Numb3rs as well, but I'm constantly afraid they're gonna cancel it.
Douglas Adams is the skateboard on which the thinking person plays hokey from the universe
I like to read a few different kinds of books, as long as they're interesting. Some of the best books I've read in the past include "The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy", "The Dark is Rising" series by Susan Cooper "The Stone of Light" series by Christian Jacq, several books by Madeline L'Engle: "A Wrinkle in Time" "A Wind in the Door" and "A Swiftly Tilting Planet", "Neuromancer" by William Gibson, The Harry Potter series of course. I've always been a huge reader ever since I was a kid. I won the bookworm contest at my grade school (La Patera) several years running. Until that bastard Greg cheated his way to the top. There's so many awesome books out there to read!

What Does Your Birth Date Mean?
.. You scored as Kaylee Frye. The Mechanic. You are a natural mechanic, and you are far too sweet and cheerful to live out here. How you can see the good in everyone around you boggles the mind occationally. Still you don't seem to be any crazier than that, and it is a nice kinda crazy.
